Rescue Teams Help Two Injured Paragliders near Dupnitsa

Mountain Rescue Service teams have helped two injured paragliders, the Mountain Rescue Service told Focus News Agency. The two men were injured in paragliding accidents near Dupnitsa. The rescuers have conducted two operations. One of the men is a Japanese. Both were taken to hospital in good condition.

Czech national dies in paragliding accident

A 39-year-old Czech national lost his life in a paragliding accident on Thursday in the region of Pella in northern Greece.

According to reports on Friday, he launched, along with four others paragliders, from a cliff in Aghios Athanasios. After he failed to land with the others, a search was launched and his body was found hours later in a forested area.

BELGRADE - Serbian contestants won gold in the men's and bronze in the women's category in the final round of the 2014 Paragliding Accuracy World Cup in Serdivan, Turkey.

In the competition held on October 17-19, Dragan Popov from Vrsac shared the first place with George Cotet of Romania, the Aeronautical Union of Serbia (VSS) released on its website on Wednesday.

Turkey’s biggest air sports festival kicked off in the Mediterranean town of Fethiye’s Ölüdeniz with paragliders from around the world participating in the event.

Around 500 air sports enthusiasts from 40 countries are competing in various disciplines at the 15th Ölüdeniz Air Games Festival, which is held every October.
