The ministers picked to be part of the Citu Government will be heard for three days, starting on Tuesday, by the joint parliamentary committees.
Romanian Court Rejects President’s Second Nomination of Orban
Romania's Constitutional Court on Monday ruled against the President Klaus Iohannis' second nomination of acting prime minister Ludovic Orban as PM-designate.
The ruling came as parliament prepared for a vote, which has now been suspended, in which legislators should have decided whether the centre-right politician would take office.
Parliament meeting for investiture of Orban Gov't II couldn't be held due to lack of quorum
Parliament's meeting for the investiture of the Orban Government II was closed on Monday by Speaker of the Deputies' Chamber Marcel Ciolacu, the Social Democratic Party (PSD) interim Chairman, who announced that there was no quorum to carry out the works. The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies announced that out of 456 MPs, only 188 registered their presence.
PM-designate Orban, about hearings of proposed ministers: So much aggressiveness I've rarely seen
Prime Minister designate, Ludovic Orban, congratulated on Thursday, at the start of the Government sitting, all the Cabinet members for the way they faced the debates in the specialty committees and mentioned that a lot of Social Democrat (PSD) MPs "lowered the level of the hearings", and stated his belief that anyone who votes like the PSD "has a backdoor arrangement with the PSD".
Only 4 of 16 ministers receive endorsement in joint select committees of Parliament
The hearings in Parliament of the ministers proposed to take part in the Orban 2 Government concluded on Wednesday, after three days of debates in the joint select committees. Only four ministers - Nicolae Ciuca, Bogdan Aurescu, Virgil Popescu and Adrian Oros - of the sixteen heard in the committees gained an endorsement from MPs, the rest being refused endorsement.

North Macedonia Expects Close Vote on Prosecution Law
North Macedonia's parliament was set to start a plenary session on the law on the prosecution later on Monday in a shortened procedure aimed at trying to pass the law by Sunday, when parliament is due to dissolve ahead of early general elections on April 12.
Censure motion read in Parliament plenary sitting
The censure motion titled "Orban Government / PNL - putting Romanian democracy into private hands", signed by 208 MPs, was read on Monday in the plenary sitting of the Parliament by Social Democrat deputy Daniel Suciu.

Anna Benaki-Psarouda to assume presidency of Athens Academy
Former parliamentary speaker Anna Benaki-Psarouda will assume the presidency of the Academy of Athens for the year 2020 on January 1, following a decision of its plenary session.
Psarouda, who was the country's first female House speaker from 2004-07, is currently the academy's vice president and will replace Stefanos Immelos.
Govt’ to convene parliament assembly for Libya motion
The Turkish government plans to bring a motion on troops deployment to Libya to the parliament speaker's office on Dec. 30.
Parliament, which is on currently on recess, would have to be called for an emergency meeting to discuss the motion at the General Assembly.
