The British Museum seeks "realistic solutions" for the Parthenon Sculptures and a "new relationship" with Greece, following Turkey's intervention at a UNESCO conference when a Turkish representative claimed no Ottoman document legitimizes Lord Elgin's actions regarding the ancient Greek sculptures.

Greece presented its case for the return of the Parthenon Sculptures at a session of an UNESCO committee that met in Paris on 29-31 May, the Culture Ministry said on Saturday.

It was Sarah Whiting's last morning in Athens. For the final day of this dense, week-long tour of Greece, the weather improved and the winter sun shone over Syntagma Square. In "The Past of the Future," on show at the Kalfayan Galleries, artists Rania Bellou, Bill Balaskas, Antonis Donef, Farida El Gazzar, Yiannis Hadjiaslanis, Konstantin Kakanias and Yiannis Papadopoulos explore the sociopolitical dynamics and symbolisms of the Acropolis, and its crowning monument, the Parthenon, while also underscoring the enduring appeal of the ancient Greek citadel as a source
