Russia's Patriarch Kirill Arrives on a Three Day Visit to Bulgaria
Russia's Patriarch Kirill arrives in Bulgaria on 2nd of March on a three-day visit. His visit is at the invitation of the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte and the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, as the Russian Patriarch will participate in the celebrations dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman Rule.
Bulgarian Capital Celebrates 140th Liberation Anniversary
The Bulgarian capital of Sofia celebrated on Thursday the 140th anniversary of its liberation from Ottoman rule.
Sofia was liberated on 4 January 1878 by Russian general Gurko, who headed Russian and Finnish military forces and Bulgarian voluntary units known as opalchentsi.

''The Ressurection of Christ disperses darkness'', Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte said at midnight at St.Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia. He served the holy paschal service followed by the Holy Loturgy for the Resurrection of Christ.

Ecumenical Patriarchate Calls on Bulgarian Church to Participate in Pan-Orthodox Council
