A surprise is in store for Ukraine; Putin and Lukashenko agreed
Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko agreed on the formation of new, joint troops on the border with Ukraine, which allays fears of a land invasion of Kyiv, writes the British Telegraph.
At a meeting with his security chief, Lukashenko confirmed that he had gathered troops with Putin "because of the tension on the Belarusian border with Ukraine."
Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko shot dead in Kiev
His wife found him bleeding at their apartment. He died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Babchenko's killer was waiting for him in the stairwell of his building. He shot him in the back.
Ukraine serviceman killed in Kyiv car blast
A suspected car bombing in Kyiv on June 27 killed a Ukrainian soldier in an incident classified as a "terrorist act" by police, the interior ministry said.
"The deceased was a serviceman in the armed forces," ministry spokesman Artem Shevchenko said at a briefing.

Ukraine bans 41 international journalists and bloggers
The Committee to Protect Journalists deplores a decree signed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the organization has announced.
According to a copy viewed by CPJ, the decree bans at least 41 international journalists and bloggers from Ukraine for one year.
