The 11th anniversary of anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas' murder will be commemorated on Wednesday with a gathering in Keratsini, Piraeus, where Fyssas was fatally stabbed by a member of the neo-Nazi group Golden Dawn. 

The Korydallos and Maniatika stations on Line 3 of the Athens metro will close at 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday, following police orders. Trains will pass through these stations without stopping.

The closure has been implemented due to planned protests in the area, marking the 11th anniversary of the death of anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas.

The judicial council of the Lamia Court of Appeals in central Greece has reversed the temporary release of Nikos Michaloliakos, former leader of the now-defunct Golden Dawn. Michaloliakos was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months in prison in 2020 after being convicted of leading a criminal organization.

The family of rap singer Pavlos Fyssas who was killed by a member of neo-Nazi Golden Dawn in 2013 said the decision of a court council earlier on Thursday to release its former leader is a "great offense" to the victims of the now-defunct group, their families and "Greek society as a whole". 

In September 2013, following the murder of anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas, the Greek authorities launched a crackdown on the leadership of Golden Dawn. A person who is now 17 years old and has just voted for the first time in the May and June elections was only 7 back then.

The 7 October, 2020, conviction of Golden Dawn as a criminal [neo-Nazi] organisation and of seven top members as its directorate was one of the few times that justice was truly served in such a case.

It was a ruling that reflected the public's sense of justice and it demonstrated that this country possesses both memory and clear judgment.

Christos Pappas, who was second in charge of the far-right Golden Dawn party, was arrested late on July 1 in Zografos, a suburb of the Greek capital Athens. 

Pappas, who had been sentenced to 13 years in prison in October 2020 along with other senior members of the party for forming a criminal organization, had gone missing after the verdict.

The long-running trial over the alleged criminal action of the neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn (GD) resumed on Wednesday after the December holiday break, with one of the lawyers of the family of murdered antifascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas making her closing statement.

A prosecutor has proposed that ll 17 former MPs of the far right Golden  party and over 40 others were acquitted for the September, 2013 murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas after a four-year trial trial, by prosecutor Adamantia Economou.

The decision caused a strong backlash, as the prosecution presented a host of witnesses, documents, and digital evidence
