BELGRADE - Svetislav Pesic has signed a contract with the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS) to stay on as head coach of the men's national basketball team until September 30, 2025 with an option to extend the deal, KSS President Nebojsa Covic announced on Sunday.

Center Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic will be able to play for the Serbian national team at the European Championship 2022, as Serbian NBA star confirmed this to coach Svetislav Pesic. So, Jokic will play in the August "window" and at the European Championship, but he will not play in the June "window" due to NBA league rules that limit how much time a basketball player can spend with the team.

Pesic will lead our national team already in the November qualifications for the 2023 World Cup, when Serbia will meet Latvia on November 25, while three days later it will visit Belgium.
