Jordanian authorities are planning to prosecute 12 Jordanians on suspicion of hate speech aimed at victims of the New Year's nightclub shooting attack in Istanbul, Jordanian state media has reported. 

Two Jordanians were among the 39 people killed in the shooting, which the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) had claimed responsibility for.

The monstrous attack on Istanbul's iconic Reina club in the first hours of the new year has inevitably triggered a new wave in the lifestyle debate among secularists in Turkey.

An Islamic State Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suspect who returned to Turkey after defecting from the group has been released from detention because he had a "fixed residence."

Investigations have been launched into social media users who posted in support of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) attack on Istanbul's Reina nightclub on Jan. 1. 

Some 20 social media accounts are currently being examined by authorities over their comments praising the ISIL militant who killed a total of 39 people and left 65 others wounded. 

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) may have staged an attack on the famous nightclub Reina with two militants, according to newly emerged reports. 

Intelligence experts have investigated footage of the attack and have been considering indications that two militants might have attacked the nightclub, daily Karar reported on Jan. 5.

U.S. officials sent warning notifications to Turkish government officials for Dec. 24, 2016, Christmas Day and for New Year's Eve, calling on them to be vigilant concerning a potential Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) attack, a Turkish government source stated on Jan. 4.

Some 27 Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suspects allegedly linked to the Jan. 1 Reina nightclub shooting were detained early on Jan. 4 in Aegean province of İzmir, Doğan News Agency has reported.

Police have detained 27 people including three families who had alleged links to the attacker.

According to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is an enemy and so is the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
