A U.S.-led coalition air strike in Syria hit an oil refinery run by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) near the border with Turkey on March 9, killing 30 people, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.

"The struggle to combat extremist violence must tackle the visions of injustice that fuel it," Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein told the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
