Emergency Medical Teams Will Avoid Roma Districts unless their Safety Is Guaranteed

Bulgaria's Health Minister Petar Moskov has warned that emergency medical teams will not respond to calls in Roma neighborhoods until their safety is guaranteed.

In a Sunday interview for bTV he claimed that 174 out of a total of 225 attacks against doctors, paramedics, and ambulance drivers had happened in such neighborhoods.

Bulgaria’s Health Minister to Submit Reform Plan by end-November

Bulgaria's Health Minister Petar Moskov has vowed to present a plan for reform in the sector by end-November.

Moskov, as cited by dnevnik.bg, made clear that the plan would highlight spheres in which the country was lagging behind other EU Member States, including the health of mothers and children, where the mortality rate was higher than the EU average.

Petar Moskov was born on December 17, 1970 in Sofia.

He has a degree in medicine from the Medical University - Sofia with a specialty in anesthesiology and intensive care. He has specialised in France, the UK, Spain and the US.

He works as a senior teaching assistant in the St. Ana university hospital in Sofia, in the anesthesiology and intensive care ward.
