Neglected Athenian landmark to be restored
The pavilion adjacent to the Church of Saint Demetrios Loumbardiaris on Philopappou Hill, designed by architect Dimitris Pikionis (1887-1968), has been transferred to the Municipality of Athens by the Greek Public Properties Company (ETAD) in order to protect and restore this neglected Athenian landmark.

Philopappou muggers linked to more robberies
The three men who were arrested last month over the death of a 25-year-old student who fell off a cliff on the capital's Philopappou Hill during an attempted mugging last month have been linked to another three robberies, a statement from Athens Police Headquarters (GADA) said on Thursday.
The three - two Pakistani nationals and an Iraqi - have been charged with manslaughter.

The Greek Police (ELAS) has proven itself capable on numerous occasions of solving even the most complicated of crimes. This was more than evident in the swift arrest of the suspects accused of causing the death of a young student on central Athens's Philopappou Hill last month while trying to mug him, an incident that shocked public opinion.

Any letter written by a mother who lost her 25-year-old child in such a sudden and shocking manner would inevitably be emotional and angry. However, the open letter sent last week to the Greek prime minister and the mayor of Athens by the mother of the young man who died after falling off a cliff onto rocks on Philopappou Hill during a mugging is also a valuable testament.

Police investigate man's death on Filopappou Hill
Police are investigating the death of a man, who lost his life in the midnight on Wednesday when he fell and hit his head on rocks on Filopappou Hill in Athens, in circumstances that remain unclear.
According to SKAI TV, the man, along with a woman, had encountered muggers, who, wielding a knife, attempted to steal their money and personal documents.
