Plan to increase role of sports in school education
Aiming to further familiarize children with sport and well-being, the Education Ministry plans to introduce physical education in kindergartens, while its hours in primary and secondary schools are also set to increase.
High schoolers to choose from 19 sports in curriculum
Within the scope of elective courses introduced in high schools, students will be required to choose from one of the 19 individual or team sports included in the "sports education" curriculum, the Education Ministry has announced.
Bulgaria: Students up to 4th Grade will be Without Masks in Class
Students up to and including 4th grade will not wear masks during class. Masks will also not be mandatory for pre-school children in schools. However, classrooms will need to be ventilated at least twice an hour for at least one minute.
Pupils returning to schools as planned on Monday
Ljubljana – Pupils will return to schools and the youngest children to kindergartens following an 11-day circuit-breaker lockdown on Monday under a decision taken by the government on Thursday, which is in line with the promise made before the country entered its third coronavirus lockdown.

President Rumen Radev Promotes Sport Among Children and Young People in Bulgaria
President Rumen Radev launched an initiative to promote physical activity and sport among children and young people in Bulgaria. It is important to get out of talking about sports as an abstraction, it is time to show young people a personal commitment at all levels, said the Head of State оon October 17.
Half of Turkey's secondary schools don't even have a gym
Answering a parliamentary question from main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Fethi Gürer, Education Minister İsmet Yılmaz stated that out of 6,857 secondary schools in Turkey, 6,280 have a physical education teacher. In other words, in 577 secondary schools there is no physical education teacher.

Demand for gyms low in Turkey despite rise in supply
The number of gyms has been rising rapidly in Turkey, but the number of gym members is quite low compared to developed countries, according to sector representatives.
While an average of 277 people are members of a gym in Turkey, the figure is above 600 in developed countries, said sector players.
