Unstable weather in Romania's mountains, Dobrogea, Moldavia, Muntenia; lingering heat in west
Romania's National Weather Administration (ANM) updated its weather warning on Thursday, issuing a Code Yellow warning of unstable weather during the day in mountainous areas, in Dobrogea, Moldavia and Muntenia, keeping in place a Code Red heat warning for the western parts of the country, Code Orange for Oltenia and most of Transylvania and the Code Yellow for the rest of the country.

Lightning strikes at Turkish parliament's garden
A bolt of lightning struck at the Turkish parliament's garden on March 22 noontime.
A plane tree was split into two parts after the lightning.
The broken piece of the tree fell on a vehicle that moved into the parliament's parking garage.
There is no injured in the incident, while material damage occurred.

Intense weather phenomena 40 pct higher in 2019 than last 20 years
Τhe number of intense weather phenomena was 40 percent higher in 2019 compared with the average percentage in previous 20 years, according to the relevant data presented by the National Observatory of Athens' Meteo weather service.
Victims of storms total 182 in Greece since 2000
Following the freak storm in the northern region of Halkidiki which killed seven people on Wednesday night, the National Observatory's Meteo weather service released data showing that 182 people have been killed in Greece from floods, strong winds or lightning bolts since 2000.
