Two security guards at a hospital in Plovdiv have been terminated from their positions following an incident involving a British citizen, as confirmed by Health Minister Galya Kondeva in response to inquiries from MP Alexander Simidchiev of WCC-DB.

The security guards from the Hospital "St. George" in Plovdiv have been released without charges following an altercation with a British patient who later died. The incident, which occurred on June 22, involved security personnel pushing, shoving, and beating the patient, as shown in CCTV footage.

The issue of security at universities has once again come to the fore, following the outrages of the last few days, with hooded assailants entering the University of Athens and spreading fear with threats of violence in student assemblies. 

Security guards at Sofia's National Palace of Culture (NDK) sparked outrage after forcefully ejecting a concertgoer displaying a Ukrainian flag during a DDT rock band performance on January 7.

Unidentified gunmen early on Monday shot dead a 60-year-old security guard at the premises of national television station Top Channel, Albanian police announced. The event happened under unclear circumstances, they said.

A video released by the Greek government Saturday evening apparently shows a Turkish vehicle puling down, with the help of a rope, a section of the fence erected by Greece on its border with Turkey.

The video, shot Friday night, was accompanied by the following statement:

Police have released 19 suspects detained following a firebomb attack on security officers outside the residence of State Minister Alekos Flambouraris on Tuesday evening.

One officer was slightly injured during the incident which involved some 20 assailants.
