Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked emergency powers Monday to quell the paralyzing protests by truckers and others angry over Canada's COVID-19 restrictions, outlining plans not only to tow away their rigs but to strike at their bank accounts and their livelihoods.
"These blockades are illegal, and if you are still participating, the time to go home is now," he declared.

Canada repatriates first victim from plane downed in Iran
The first remains of a Canadian who died when Iran shot down a passenger plane earlier this month arrived in Canada on Jan. 21.
At the request of the family, no name was released.
"There has been one repatriation of remains which took place, and we respected the wish of the family to respect their privacy," said Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne.
