Scattered outbreaks in Corinth, fire extinguished in Xanthi

With no active front is the fire that broke out yesterday afternoon in a forest area in Stimanga, Corinthia, but firefighting forces remain in the area as there are scattered outbreaks.

Man arrested in Karpathos over store owner's fatal stabbing

A 27-year-old man was arrested on Saturday night on the island of Karpathos after reportedly killing a 68-year-old with a knife.
The alleged suspect barged into the store of the victim located in the village of Pigadia and started stabbing him, state-run news agency ANA-MPA reported.
The store owner was rushed to the local hospital where doctors confirmed his death.

Skier killed in accident in northern Greece

A 22-year-old man died in the early hours of Thursday from injuries sustained in a skiing accident, the ANA-MPA news agency has reported.

The young man was on a late-night skiing excursion with friends at Tria-Pente Pigadia in Naoussa, northern Greece, when he apparently lost control and smashed into a tree at great speed during a downhill run.
