Early harvest, pricey pistachio

Pistachio is a passion for the people of Gaziantep, and the city is surely Turkey's capital of pistachios where most dishes, either savory or sweet, take their generous share of the greenest nut. The end of the summer is the period when pistachio pickers constantly check the groves for the ideal harvest time.

Delight for the palate

Pistachios and chocolate: These two have an affinity for each other according to the Turkish palate. All Turkish patisseries feature a chocolate specialty with pistachios; chocolate ganache cake is almost always sparked with bright green pistachios; I bet there is not a single pastry shop in the whole country that does not have a chocolate-pistachio combo product on its shelves.

Pistachio passion

Green gold they like to call it. It is as precious as gold to them. They are the locals of the southeastern Turkish province of Gaziantep, the folk who are fiercely proud of their cuisine and above all, passionate about their pistachios.
