Türkiye and Iraq signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday focused on cooperation in security, military, and counterterrorism efforts, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced.

A little over half were arrested and the others were still being sought, the Ankara Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.

An investigation was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on Dec. 13 against a Peoples' Democratic Party's (HDP) congress over pro-PKK slogans.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Deputy Dirayet Dilan Taşdemir on charges of being a member of an armed terrorist organization after Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu claimed that she visited northern Iraq's Gara region where 13 Turks were killed.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that a call by the European Court of Human Rights for the release of Kurdish politician Selahattin Demirtas was hypocritical and only Turkish courts can rule on his case.
