The owner of a hotel in Florina, northern Greece, was being questioned by a prosecutor on Monday after 14 guests at his facility were hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning from a faulty heating system.

Late last night, one of the victims of the fireworks warehouse explosions near Elin Pelin passed away despite the best efforts of medical teams. Prof. Nikolay Gabrovski from Pirogov Hospital confirmed at a briefing this morning that the deceased was a 48-year-old man who succumbed to severe injuries.

The local community of Vartholomio, Ilia in southern Greece is reeling in horror and disgust at the abominable images posted online of dead dogs and cats that ingested poison placed by an unknown perpetrator.

One of the deadliest fungi in the world was discovered in northern Australia - thousands of miles from their native habitat in the mountains of Japan and Korea.

The Arcturos brown bear conservation society has reported and condemned the mass poisoning of dogs in the northern Greek region of Florina, where the organization is headquartered.

In a post on social media, Arcturos reported that at least 26 dogs - the majority working dogs belonging to local shepherds - were found poisoned to death in the areas of Sklithro, Aetos and Nymphaio.

A 45-year-old man has been charged with the fatal poisoning last week of two stray dogs in the region of Aridaia in Pella, northern Greece.

Police launched the investigation after being informed of the poisoning by animal rights activists who also reported the incident on social media.

The suspect is accused of feeding the dogs with food laced with poison.

Turkey's national poison helpline receives an average of 220,000 reports of poisoning and intoxication each year.

The Service Control Commission will listen to the specialists, NOVA TV reports.

The Gebrev case enters parliament. In a closed session, MPs from the Service Control Commission will hear the heads of the special and prosecution on the case with the poisoning of businessman Emilian Gebrev.

Some experts suggest organizing a massive hunting campaign against extremely poisonous toadfish that have recently been infesting Turkey’s seas. Fishermen have already been affected by the infestation but vacationers might also be at risk.

A fire broke the cooling system of a large wafer manufacturing plant in the Forêt area in western Brussels, and authorities evacuated staff from neighboring industrial buildings and students from a school, 200 meters from the plant, TASS reported.
