Turkey has "legitimate security concerns" regarding its southern border, NATO secretary-general reiterated on Oct. 14.       

Turkey has much to demand from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as an active member that contributes to all missions, according to academic Haldun Yalçınkaya.

A summer garden party was organized by the British Chamber of Commerce in Turkey (BCCT) to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta at Runnymede, England, in 1215, with the attendance of leading diplomatic and business community members.

Europe celebrates two important anniversaries this year: the signature of the Magna Carta in 1215, when King John of England granted certain rights to rebellious barons, and the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, when the European allies crushed Napoleon.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth led celebrations June 14 to mark 800 years since the sealing of the Magna Carta, one of the world's most significant historical documents and credited with paving the way for modern freedoms and human rights. 

The four surviving original Magna Carta copies go on display together for the first time from Monday as Britain kicks off 800th anniversary celebrations for a contract with global significance.
