Ukrainian Parliament Approves Trying Yanukovych at ICC

Lawmakers in Ukraine have voted in favour of trying the fugitive ousted President Viktor Yanukovych at The Hague's International Criminal Court (ICC).

It is unclear whether the ICC would accept a case from Ukraine, as the country is not a signatory to the Rome Convention which established the institution.

New Ukrainian Government Delayed for Thursday

The formation of the new Ukrainian government has been postponed for Thursday.

"I am instructing the formation of a national unity government on Thursday", Parliament Speaker and Interim President Oleksandr Turchynov said, quoted by Interfax.

Initial reports suggested that the new government could be formed on Tuesday.

Freed Tymoshenko Speaks to Packed Maidan

The freed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko gave a moving speech in front of thousands of people on the Maidan square in Kiev.

Tymoshenko was freed from prison after 2.5 years behind bars on accusations of abusing her powers in office.

Despite her ailing health, Tymoshenko spoke from a wheelchair in front of a massive crowd.

Ukraine's Parliament Appoints Opposition Leader Acting PM

During an emergency session of parliament on Saturday, 314 out of 450 lawmakers voted to elect opposition leader Oleksandr Turchynov as Ukraine's acting prime minister.

In another sign of how the nation is changing power, parliament has appointed Arsen Avakov as Ukraine's acting interior minister.
