Tribute paid to Renaissance man Ivan Tavčar
As Slovenia celebrates the Year of Ivan Tavčar in 2023 with a number of events dedicated to the Slovenian writer, lawyer and politician (1851-1923) and his legacy, experts note the many fields that captured his interest. Together with his wife, Franja Tavčar (1868-1938), he helped build a liberal stronghold and supported fellow artists.

Protocol signed on construction of new road link between Gorenjska, Primorska
Ljubljana – Infrastructure Minister Jernej Vrtovec has signed a protocol with local mayors on the construction of a new road link between the northern Gorenjska and the western Primorska regions. Thus, an important step was made towards the implementation of the project, called the 4th development axis, according to the minister.

Obrenovac under water, 800 people evacuated
BELGRADE - The situation with floods in the Belgrade area is the worst in the municipality of Obrenovac, because the river Kulubara flooded the centre of the city on Thursday night, so 80 percent of it is now under water.

Nikolic: Saving human lives top priority
