A total of 749 cruise ships visited Türkiye's ports in the January-August period, bringing 1.2 million passengers, according to data from the Transport Ministry.

August was the busiest month in terms of cruise ship traffic at 176, but most passengers arrived in July at more than 315,000.

A total of 50 cruise ships visited Turkish ports in January-March, up from 42 in the same period of last year, according to the latest numbers from the Transportation Ministry.

The number of cruise passengers visiting the country rose from 34,112 to more than 61,000 in the first three months of 2024.

Carnival Cruise's Carnival Vista sea cruise vessel will use Greece's main Piraeus port as an arrival and departure port as of Spring 2016 for its Mediterranean Sea voyage.
