Internautica boat show back after four years
Slovenia's biggest boat show, Internautica, has returned after a four-year absence, bringing to Portorož Marina what the organisers said is a flagship programme that features premieres of a number of sportsboats, yachts, sailing boats and inflatable boats.

Seaside resort on a quest for its former glory
The seaside resort Portorož has reopened a section of the promenade connecting the main pier and the central beach. The municipality invested some €700,000 in the renovation that will help the resort restore the shine it lost through the years.

Croatian owner reportedly selling four Portorož hotels
Portorož – Croatian businessman Darko Ostoja is allegedly selling four hotels in Portorož, Slovenia’s best known seaside resort, that he acquired in 2014. According to a report Delo, a Slovenian insurance group has indicated interest in buying the hotels.
Bitch, a Derogatory Term for a Woman gets Vesna for best film
Portorož – This year’s Vesna Award for best feature film went to Prasica, Slabšalni Izraz za Žensko (Bitch, a Derogatory Term for a Woman), a debut by Tijana Zinajić, as the Festival of Slovenian Film wrapped up in the coastal town of Portorož on Sunday evening with the conferring of what are considered Slovenian Oscars.
Festival of Slovenian Film opening in Portorož
Portorož – The 24th Festival of Slovenian Film will open in the coastal town of Portorož on Tuesday with the screening of Inventura, a film by Darko Sink. Until Sunday, a total of 54 films will compete for the festival’s awards.

Marinas happy with occupancy rates
Portorož/Izola – Slovenia’s largest marinas are happy with occupancy rates this summer with the one in Izola reporting a record 98% occupancy and the Portorož marina is seeing 30% higher figures than last year.

Renewed “Protect the Sea” signs unveiled on Slovenian coast
Portorož – As the EUSAIR Strategy Forum and the Slovenian presidency of the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative (AII) comes to an end, renewed “Protect the Sea” signs were presented in Portorož on Wednesday. They are to help raise awareness about climate change and its impact on the marine and coastal environment.
EUSAIR strategy forum marks end of Slovenia’s AII presidency
Portorož – Slovenia is concluding its third presidency of the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative (AII). On this occasion, the Izola Declaration was adopted at the EUSAIR strategy forum in Portorož on Tuesday, underlining the European perspective of the Western Balkans, said Slovenian Foreign Minister Anže Logar.
Report: Marina Portorož sold to Japanese buyer
Portorož – Spa operator Terme Čatež confirmed on Friday that it had sold Marina Portorož but would not disclose the buyer. It also said the contract contained suspensive conditions. Newspapers Delo and Primorske Novice reported of the sale earlier today, saying the buyer came from Japan.

Slovenia to host major mathematics event in June
Koper – The University of Primorska will host the 8th European Congress of Mathematics (8ECM), one of the major events in the field, in the coastal town of Portorož between 20 and 26 June. The congress will be held mostly online due to the epidemiological situation, said the university.
