Postage stamp

Canada's postal service on Nov. 25 celebrated the 60-year writing career of "The Handmaid's Tale" author Margaret Atwood by featuring her image on a stamp.

Schools across the country are being supplied with stamps carrying the "Stop Bullying" slogan by the Hellenic Post (ELTA) on the occasion of the recent release of the commemorative series of stamps "Children and Stamps," which is dedicated to putting an end to the problem of bullying at schools.

On January 29, 2020, at 10.30 am, in the Central Post Office in Sofia, on Gurko Street, the Executive Director of Bulgarian Posts EAD Deyan Duneshki will launch an issue on the topic: Chinese New year - The Year of the Metal Rat. "The publication consists of two blocks with one postage stamp and a special postage stamp. The project artist is Maya Staykova.

Bulgarian Posts had released the postage stamp "2018 -- Year of the Yellow Dog", its chief executive officer Deyan Daneshki said here Friday.

The postage stamp had a circulation of 3,600, and cost 0.65 Bulgarian lev (some 0.41 U.S. dollars), Daneshki said at the validation ceremony attended by hundreds of philatelists eager to buy a copy.

Postage stamps, old coins and football cards are some of the more usual items gathered by those interested in collecting items as a hobby.

The Anglican Church in Greece is organizing two Community Connect events on November 8 and November 15. The November 8 event will take place at the Swedish Center in Plaka between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., with coffee, cake and a sale of homemade jams and much more. The event on November 15 will take place at the Loida Scripture Union Home For the Elderly in Kifissia between 10 a.m.

The European Literature Night initiative which aims to make access to the cultures of different communities easier has been growing more and more popular in Bulgaria.

Post stamps made of 24-carat gold were displayed for the first time in Bulgaria on Friday at the International Fair in Plovdiv during the opening of the exhibition Bulkolekto 2016.

The unique collection contains 22 items - the first post stamps printed in the 19th century in England, Bulgaria, the USA, Russia, Monaco, Switzerland, Norway etc.
