Police probe links of terrorist suspect to two guerrilla groups
Police are investigating the suspected connections to two terrorist groups of a 29-year-old man arrested over the weekend in connection with a letter bomb attack in May on former prime minister Lucas Papademos and other similar attempted hits.
The man, who was named by police on Monday as Constantinos Giagtzoglou, had been under investigation for two months.
Letter-bomb suspect caught clearing weapons, explosives from safe house
A 29-year-old man who was arrested in the early hours of Saturday in central Athens on suspicion of having sent the letter bombs that injured former premier Lucas Papademos in May and an employee at the International Monetary Fund's office in Paris in March, was allegedly in the process of clearing guns and explosives from a safe house.

Nearly a month after Lucas Papademos and two other people were hurt after the former prime minister opened a letter bomb in his car, the Greek Police (ELAS) is planning to relocate the officers who had been entrusted with checking his mail that day, Kathimerini understands.

Suspicious package at Education Ministry turns out to be safe
Police bomb disposal experts were dispatched to the headquarters of the Education Ministry on Monday after officials reported finding a suspicious package on the premises.
Experts checked the parcel and determined that it contained no suspicious device or other contents that could be a cause for concern.

Bullets addressed to top revenue official intercepted
Officials at the main post office in Faliro, southern Athens, intercepted an envelope containing three bullets addressed to the general secretary of public revenue, Giorgos Pitsilis, authorities said on Tuesday.
The envelope, which did not carry the sender's name or address, was discovered at 2.30 p.m. at the sorting office.
Suspicious envelope sent to Greek Pentagon
The Greek Pentagon is on alert after a suspicious envelope was sent to the building of the Greek National Defence. The envelope was deemed suspicious during the X-ray screening procedure at the Pentagon main gates. A specialised team from the Greek police was called in after a military handled the envelope following the screening.

Greek Police see pattern in parcel bomb campaign
Police said on Tuesday that the targets of eight parcel bombs discovered on Monday were top European finance officials, including Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem and the managing director of euro area's bailout fund, Klaus Regling, as well as institutions such as the European Central Bank, and Moody's and Fitch agencies.

Police in Greece contacting targets of parcel bombs
Police in Greece are contacting the targets of eight parcel bombs addressed to European finance officials and businesses in various European countries, after the devices were discovered and neutralized at a postal sorting office near Athens.
