Athens power cut due to human error

An extensive but brief power outage that affected mainly western Athens on Tuesday morning was the result of a human error, said Greece's electricity grid operator ADMIE.
ADMIE said high voltage transmission lines were turned off at 11:35 a.m. at the public power utility's (PPC) substation at Rouf.

Rhodes suffers power blackout

The power went out in parts of the southeastern Aegean island of Rhodes on Saturday due to a technical failure.

According to local reports, there was a total blackout at both of the island's power plants due to a serious network failure.

This is the second power failure Rhodes has experienced in two weeks, after a similar incident last Friday.

Hydra mayor: Power and water supply to be restored Monday

Hydra's mayor said he expects the island's water and electricity supply to be restored on Monday afternoon, two days after a power outage brought chaos to the island.

"The water and electricity supply on Hydra island will be fully restored in the afternoon thanks to two temporary solutions," Giorgos Koukoudakis told state-run news agency AMNA.

Kavala power outage caused by transformer explosion

The city of Kavala and its surrounding area in northeastern Greece were without electricity for around two hours late on Sunday night. The power outage was caused by an explosion at a Public Power Corporation transformer shortly before midnight.

A small fire broke out after the blast but it was quickly brought under control.
