President Donald Trump issued the first veto of his presidency on March 15 to block a measure passed by Democrats and Republicans in Congress that would terminate his emergency declaration for a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico.

North Korea is considering suspending talks with the United States and may rethink a ban on missile and nuclear tests unless Washington makes concessions, news reports from the North's capital on March 15 quoted a senior diplomat as saying.

The nuclear summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un in Hanoi ended abruptly without an agreement on Feb. 28, the White House said after the two leaders cut short their discussions.

The second summit between the leaders of the United States and North Korea, which takes place in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, has begun.

Asked whether he'd walked back his vow to insist upon the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, Trump said he had not.

"No," he said. 

Questioned later whether he planned to declare an end to the Korean War, he said: "We'll see."

North Korea has an enormous economic potential if the leader of the country, Kim Jong-un, agrees Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons. President Trump announced Sunday that the US and China had made "substantial progress" in their trade talks and that he was postponing raising tariffs on Chinese goods while a deal is finalized, FORBES writes.

There was still some hard work to be done ahead of the upcoming summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, a Washington envoy said Saturday after three days of talks in Pyongyang.

President Trump announced on Tuesday that he will sit down with North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un, at the end of this month in Vietnam, a country chosen as a neutral location for their second nuclear summit meeting, but one that also has plenty of symbolic significance, reported NY Times. 

When it takes effect on February 15, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell's resignation will create a significant vacancy at the US Department of State. He is responsible for America's relations with 50 countries in Europe and Eurasia, and with NATO, the European Union and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
