Türkiye and Uzbekistan will hold a security summit with the participation of foreign and interior ministers as well as intelligence chiefs, Turkish diplomatic sources have informed.

This meeting which will focus on security, migration and counterterrorism issues will mark a first in Turkish-Uzbekistan ties, according to the sources.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has received his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the presidential complex in the capital Ankara for bilateral talks.

Mirziyoyev will attend the seventh meeting of the Türkiye-Uzbekistan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council on the first day of his visit.

Türkiye's first indigenous electric car Togg has been presented to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, becoming the second foreign leader to have received the vehicle after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The presidents of Turkey and Uzbekistan discussed regional issues and bilateral ties on Sept. 1, according to an official statement.
