President Klaus Iohannis stated, on Friday, that he is withdrawing his trust in Prime Minister Viorica Dnacila, claiming that she cannot handle the position of Prime Minister.

In context, the head of state publicly requested the resignation of Viorica Dancila.

If this happens, Romania will be the first EU member-state to follow the example of the US, who have so far been joined by Guatemala and Honduras.

The Jerusalem Post writes that Romania will "soon move its embassy to Jerusalem," citing Liviu Dragnea, president of the Chamber of Deputies and a member of Romania's ruling party, who spoke on Thursday.

Romanian President-elect Klaus Iohannis will be sworn in as President on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 12 p.m., according to a decision made by the joint Standing Bureaus in the Chamber of Deputies and Senate on Tuesday.

Romanian President-elect Klaus Iohannis said on Friday that, in his opinion, a Constitution revision is necessary and he promised to be a president who will follow "the letter and the spirit" of the fundamental law.

Incumbent President Traian Basescu on Monday congratulated Liberal head Klaus Iohannis for having won Sunday's presidential elections.
