Brnabic: Sretenje Constitution proclaimed freedom, independence as our fundamental values
KRAGUJEVAC - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Thursday the 1835 Serbian Constitution, also known as the Sretenje (The Meeting of the Lord) Constitution, had proclaimed freedom, independence and peacefulness as the fundamental values of Serbs.
Radoš Petrović was released on bail
After a full 26 days of detention, he rejoined his family.
From the moment of his arrest, there were clear evidence that Rado was detained while peacefully protesting, without any guilt, which was confirmed by international representatives, including EULEX, both for him and Duan Obrenovi.

Central ceremony to mark Statehood Day/VIDEO
The day commemorates two pivotal events in the efforts to rebuild a Serbian state after centuries of Ottoman Turkish occupation: the First Serbian Uprising of 1804, led by Djordje "Karadjordje" Petrovic, and the adoption of the Sretenje Constitution in 1835.

PM in Statehood Day message to Serbians
"On behalf of the government of the Republic of Serbia and in my own name, I congratulate citizens of Serbia Statehood Day, proud of the Sretenje Constitution, whose adoption in 1835 laid the foundations of a modern Serbian state," Brnabic stated, according to a press release.
