Olympiakos conceded its European title to Hungary's Ferencvaros on Saturday, losing at the shootout in the final of the LEN Champions League in Hannover, Germany.

Olympiakos has returned to the European throne of the men's water polo as it won the second LEN Champions League in its history beating host Pro Recco in Saturday's final in Italy.
The Italians were the favorites for the trophy in this Final-Eight, being eight-time winners and playing at home.

Serbian Olympic Committee names best athletes in 2016
The Olympic Committee of Serbia has named male water polo player Filip Filipovic and female taekwondist Tijana Bogdanovic as best Serbian athletes for 2016.
With the national team, Filipovic won the European Championship, the World League and the long-awaited Olympic gold, as well as the Champions League with his club, Italy's Pro Recco.

LUXEMBOURG - Filip Filipovic, a member of Serbia's water polo team, was declared Europe's best player in 2014, according to LEN, the European governing body for aquatic sports.
Radnicki lose to Brescia in water polo Champions League
BRESCIA - Radnicki Kragujevac lost 9-6 (1-1, 3-2, 3-2, 2-1) to Brescia away from home late Wednesday in Round 4 of the water polo Champions League Group A.
The Serbian team suffered their third defeat, reducing their chances of qualifying for the final tournament, while Brescia clinched their first win after two draws and one defeat.

BUDAPEST - The Serbian men's national water polo team won the gold medal at the 31st European Championship by beating hosts Hungary 12-7 in Budapest late Sunday.
It is the third European gold medal for Serbia as an independent nation, which also triumphed in Belgrade in 2006 and in Eidnhoven in 2012.
