Tens of millions of euros related to value-added tax refunds remain unclaimed from the tax authorities. According to information, the traces of the beneficiaries have been lost by the tax office and none of them has come forward to inquire about them.

ENFIA payable in 11 tranches this year
The installments for the payment of the Single Property Tax (ENFIA) are increasing with an amendment submitted by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance to Parliament. At the same time, the deadlines for submitting the E9 form of realty declarations for those who want to make corrections are changing, while properties affected by natural disasters are exempted from ENFIA.

Platform opens for 10% ENFIA discount on insured homes
The platform has opened for the submission of applications by property owners who have insured their properties, for the tax office to calculate the 10% discount on the Single Property Tax (ENFIA).
Owners can apply until February 22 on the myProperty platform, with the necessary checks following for the eligibility of applicants.

Digital transfer of property completed online in one day, ministers say
The digital transfer of property platform went into operation on Monday through the gov.gr portal for all citizens and notaries public who wish to avoid lengthy in-person registration times.
Once data is entered, the system will send the approved transfer or a justified rejection within a working day, instead of several-month delays, e-Governance ministers said.
Night club hid three million euros in revenue
Greece's tax authority uncovered tax evasion totalling three million euros at an Athens night club.
Following a tip, the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) discovered that the business had not submitted a tax return that for the 2022 tax year, concealing revenues of 2.7 million euros, while also avoiding the payment of VAT totalling 255,000 euros.

Housing market remains weak, sales plunge 21 percent
The year-on-year decline in home sales deepened in November, with sales falling 20.6 percent from the same month of last year to around 93,500, the numbers from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) showed on Dec. 15.
In October, nearly 94,000 residential properties changed hands, pointing to 8.7 percent annual decline.
AADE chief: Changing the image of tax authority
Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) Governor Giorgos Pitsilis spoke of progress in transforming the tax authority's organization and its services to the public at the 25th Capital Link Investment Forum in New York earlier this week.
He focused on the digitization of services that led to more effective procedures, and the use of technology to improve tax inspections.
