Police on Santorini have made six arrests in relation to pimping and illegal prostitution on the island.

Aged between 20 and 32, the six were arrested on Sunday at a shop engaged in a health-related activity.

A police officer was arrested on Thursday afternoon in Attica for pimping Ukrainian and Russian women following a months-long investigation by the internal affairs division.

Online conversations revealed by Kathimerini shed light on the ongoing investigation into the alleged prostitution racket involving girls aged 14 to 18 in Athens. Six arrests have been made by the police in connection with the case.

The suspect allegedly ran the unlicensed brothel on behalf of a 61-year-old man, who took the lion's share of the proceeds from its illegal activities, giving her a cut.
