Protected areas of Slovenia

One of the largest national reserves in Europe, Triglav National Park in the north-west of Slovenia, is taking new steps towards sustainable mobility by creating new bus routes and increasing the frequency of existing links for the summer season.

More than 1,800 extreme sport enthusiasts will travel to the Vipava Valley to take on one of the biggest ultra marathon challenges in the country from 4 to 7 May. The toughest runners will choose the 170-kilometre Emperor route.

According to the biggest travel guide publisher, the natural appeal of the Julian Alps offers "mountain bliss in an overlooked corner of Europe".
