Int’l Istanbul Puppet Festival starts at Fişekhane
The 25th International Istanbul Puppet Festival, which aims to introduce the art of puppet, meets puppet lovers in Istanbul's Fişekhane.
The event opened on Oct. 27 and will continue through Nov. 4 with performances by international puppeteers at Fişekhane Black Box Stage for both adult and child audiences.

Maribor – The Maribor Puppet Theatre is hosting the 11th Biennial of Puppet Artists of Slovenia from Wednesday to Saturday. The selector Rok Bozovičar has picked 12 productions to present an overview of puppetry in Slovenia.

‘We are here,’ say artists seeking support from state
Demonstrators carry a giant puppet during a protest outside Greek Parliament in Athens on Thursday. Hundreds of musicians, actors and other art workers demanded more support for their sector. "We are here," read a message drawn in chalk on the street. In the northern city of Thessaloniki, musicians performed tied up in red-and-white cordon tape.

The İzmir International Puppet Days, which started as a small festival in İzmir in 2007, will present 44 different shows from 24 countries to puppet lovers of all ages on its 13th edition.

Karromato, a Czech marionette company that is renowned for its vintage puppets and old-school narrative, is in Athens for three shows at the Mairivi Theater with the entertaining and humorous production "Wooden Circus." Shows start at 8 p.m. on Friday, 5 p.m. on Saturday, and noon on Sunday, and tickets cost 10 euros.
