Migrant ship located off Peloponnese coast
A boat carrying 75 refugees and migrants was located more than 80 miles southeast of Pylos, in the southwestern Peloponnese.
According to the coast guard, a distress call was made from the boat in Monday morning and a cargo ship was nearby the location of the call.
A coast guard vessel has responded to the call and sent a vessel to the location.

Forty-five years of preserving Greek gems

Pylos marina tender postponed again
The tender for the privatization of the marina at Pylos in the southwestern Peloponnese has been postponed another four months.
State sell-off fund TAIPED announced that the submission date for binding offers, which had been last Monday, has been changed to July 13, 2017.

85 illegal immigrants rescued by Greek coastguard
The Greek coastguard rescued 85 illegal immigrants in the open seas off the west coast of Pylos in the west of Peloponnese, late last night. The immigrants were on a yacht and after being spotted were taken to the port of Kalamata. According to sources, one of the immigrants aboard the yacht sent a distress signal to the Kalamata police with a cell phone.

TAIPED starts the year with marina bids
For state privatization fund TAIPED, 2017 gets under way with the concession of two marinas: at Pylos in the Peloponnese and Alimos in Attica. By the end of February, this should have been followed by the announcement the tenders for two more, on Chios and at Aretsou in Thessaloniki, and, afterward, another of Myconos.

Greece's submerged treasures showcased at Pylos castle
It was still early in the morning when we reached Pylos, a pretty seaside town on the southwestern coast of the Peloponnese, just as its residents were starting to stir. We left behind the main square with its big, shady plane trees and headed to Niokastro - the "New" Castle - which overlooks Pylos from a hill at the southern end of its impressive natural harbor.
