Racism in Israel

Brussels, 26 March 2019 - Today the European Parliament adopted a Resolution on the fundamental rights of people of African descent in Europe. This is the first time that the European Parliament publicly recognises the specific racism and fundamental rights issues facing people of African descent in Europe.

Turkey on July 19 slammed a new law adopted by Israel's parliament defining the country as the nation state of the Jewish people, saying the legislation "trampled" on universal law and the rights of Israeli Arabs.

Legal and diplomatic battles in U.N. organizations and international sport associations involving charges of war crimes and efforts to suspend membership of one or the other are likely to shape future Israeli-Palestinian relations in the wake of last month's electoral victory by Benjamin Netanyahu.
