Authorities smash major trafficking racket with 29 arrests
Greek authorities on Saturday announced the breakup of a large human trafficking racket believed to have been producing forged travel documents for migrants and smuggling them to other European countries.
Booze racket smashed in Attica
Police in Attica said on Thursday that they have broken a racket that had been manufacturing adulterated alcohol and selling it across the country, with an estimated turnover of 500,000 euros in just six months.
Nine suspected members of the racket were arrested while another six are being sought.

Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE) investigators are working with a courier company to ascertain the exact size of a knock-off sneaker racket that is believed to have sold at least 3.27 million euros' worth of merchandise to consumers in Greece.

Attica burglary racket broken up by police
Six suspected member of a burglary racket believed to be behind at least 22 break-ins and thefts in northeastern Attica faced an Athens prosecutor on Monday on multiple theft charges.
The racket's loot is believed to be worth in excess of 328,000 euros.
The six suspects were arrested following a police sweep in the areas of Zefyri and Ano Liosia last Friday.

Eleven arrested for smuggling, dealing illegal steroids
A police operation on Monday led to the arrest of 11 Greeks - 10 men and a woman - believed to be members of an international criminal racket dealing in anabolic steroids in Greece and other countries.
Working together, officers of the Greek Police (ELAS) and the Financial Police conducted simultaneous raids in Attica, Crete and Epirus.

Corruption prosecutors investigating files of convicts who secured an early release using medical certificates have uncovered a criminal racket operating inside prisons which provided forged health documents.
The revelation follows evidence of a second suspicious release of a convict who was serving a life sentence for murder and other crimes.

A maior police operation was under way in Athens on Monday aimed at cracking a large drug trafficking racket.
Officers had arrested 28 suspected members of the racket by noon.
The ring is believed to have focused its operations around the city center and Amerikis Square.
