Gradual Heating Activation Begins in Sofia: Schools and Health Facilities Prioritized
Toplofikatsia Sofia" (Heating Sofia) has announced that the gradual start-up of the heating system in the capital will begin on October 21.
Heating will be supplied in phases starting Monday, prioritizing schools, kindergartens, and healthcare facilities first, followed by administrative and residential buildings.
Sofia's Heating System Stumbles, Leaves Residents in the Cold
Heating accidents have left substantial parts of Sofia without warmth and hot water, just three days after the capital's heating system was launched on November 5. The chilly ordeal began with radiators cooling off in districts like "Yavorov" and "Levski V." Toplofikatsia's website assures residents that the "cold shower" is expected to conclude today.
Central Heating in Sofia will gradually Phase Out in the coming days
As of today, April 26, Sofia District Heating ("Toplofikacia") will start phasing out the heating in the capital, the company announced.
All share distribution companies have been notified, and the process of shutting down the heating system is expected to be completed by April 28.
