Radios are still an integral part of Turkish people's lifestyle despite the emergence of the internet and numerous technological advances such as podcasts, smartphones, and the like, according to research.

Owing to its low cost and easier accessibility, radio is still recognized as one of the most popular and effective means of communication.

The Greek Police (ELAS) is to equip its units with 3,500 digital radios as part of its drive to modernize its communication systems. 

Bulgaria's Communications Regulation Commission (CRС) launched a public consultation procedure on the draft CRC position regarding the issuance of authorisations for use of the individually assigned scarce resource - radio frequency spectrum for terrestrial digital audio broadcasting (T-DAB+).

Norway has become the first country in the world to completely switch off its FM radios.

Listeners in the country will now have to choose between DAB (digital audio broadcasting) signal or not having the radio on at all. Except some rebellious radio stations, including Oslo's Metro Group, have defied the order and are continuing to broadcast despite the government order.
