In a recent gathering organized by the European Liberal Forum, ALDE, and the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, outgoing Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mariya Gabriel, underscored Sofia's commitment to the European Union membership of Western Balkan countries.

ALDE co-chair Ilhan Kyuchyuk emphasized Bulgaria's imperative for full membership in the Schengen Area during Monday's EU Meets the Balkans Forum in Sofia.

Kyuchyuk asserted that Bulgaria rejects a "quasi-state" status and demands full integration into the Schengen Zone, highlighting the country's potential contributions to EU integration and its added value within the union.

"With the delegation of the Senate of France, I discussed all important issues, from the situation in the region and the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, to the strengthening of political dialogue and the expansion of bilateral and economic cooperation, especially in the sphere of new large investments," wrote Vui on his Instagram profile and added :

BELGRADE - Under economic criteria, a country that wants to become an EU member state must prove that it has a market that is based on competition and economic competence, Serbia's European Integration Minister Tanja Miscevic noted on Wednesday.

"I will come to Sofia as often as necessary in order to reach a decision (lifting the Bulgarian veto on North Macedonia's membership in the EU) by the end of June, we have no time, the war has shown us how important the European integration is."

Vui pointed out that there are three things that could be important for everyone.

Eight South American countries that are part of the regional PROSUR bloc are coordinating their response to the new coronavirus, said Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno, quoted by the DPA.

Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Colombia, Peru and Guyana have agreed to "unify measures for the entry of people into each country," Moreno wrote on Twitter.

He added that Serbia remains committed to the EU integration despite the delay in the accession process, which he said was "unprecedented."

A key irony of our times is this: The United States and Britain have been accused in previous decades of constructing an international order to suit their interests. The postwar Western and global system was governed by the international institutions and organizations they created (from Bretton Woods to NATO).
