More than 30 areas identified for hydrocarbon exploration
Over 30 areas have been identified for hydrocarbon exploration in the Ionian Sea and off the coast of western and southern Crete, the state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) reported on Sunday.
The map of "plots" was presented by Hellenic Hydrocarbon Resources Management chief Yiannis Basias at an energy conference on the Eastern Mediterranean, ANA-MPA said.
Silistar Oil and Gas Prospecting First Attempt Failed
The first attempt at oil and gas prospecting off Silistar in the Black Sea has failed.
At the end of March "Shell International Exploration and Development Italia", in which Shell has a 50 percent share, the Australian Woodside Energy - 30 percent, and the Spanish Repsol - the remaining shares, conducted three months of prospecting in Block Khan Kubrat.
Final two hydrocarbon concessions to be signed
The final two of four concessions for hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation in the Ionian Sea are set to be signed on Tuesday by Energy Minister Giorgos Stathakis, the head of Hellenic Hydrocarbon Research Management, Ioannis Basias, and the contractors.

8 energy giants show interest in oil exploration in Greece
Eight foreign oil and petrol companies have expressed interest in collaborating with Hellenic Petroleum Group, revealed the company’s general manager of exploration and production Yiannis Grigoriou, Wednesday. Total, Shell, Repsol, Japex, Dana Petroleum, INA and Hunt are in talks with ELPE to start hydrocarbon exploration in the areas of Arta-Preveza and the north-eastern Peloponnese.

Oil Found in Bulgarian Black Sea Offshore Drilling
Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev has announced that oil was found in the Khan Asparuh block during offshore drilling earlier this year.
Donchev has not elaborated his remarks at the opening of a tripartite meeting of government, employers, and unions.
