190 years of Greek-Russian diplomatic ties marked in Moscow

An exhibition of archival material concerning the foreign policy of the Russian Empire was inaugurated on Wednesday in Moscow by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Greek Ambassador Andreas Fryganas on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of the establishment of Greek-Russian diplomatic ties.

The exhibition is being hosted by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Putin: "Moscow closely monitoring developments in Macedonia"

Moscow has been "closely monitoring the developments in Macedonia," Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.

This is according to a Beta report on Wednesday, that quoted Macedonia's MIA agency.

Putin made the remarks as he met with Macedonian (FYROM) President Gjorge Ivanov, who is on a two-day visit to Moscow.

Events in Macedonia "orchestrated from outside"

Moscow believes the events in Macedonia are being "orchestrated from outside," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday.

Speaking before the Federation Council, Lavrov said the reason could be the desire to influence the Macedonian government over its refusal to join anti-Russian sanctions, and the decision to support South Stream, and then Turkish Stream pipelines.
