The Atatürk House Museum in the eastern Anatolian province of Erzurum, where the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk resided for 52 days on July 9, 1919 and laid the foundations of the national struggle during the Erzurum Congress, receives thousands of tourists in every season. 

Turkish customs have seized 977 chinchilla furs from three people attempting to smuggle them into Turkey at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport.

Speaking at a U.N. panel, Canan Dağdeviren, the first scientist from Turkey to be named as a junior fellow by the Society of Fellows at Harvard University, has said her source of “endless motivation” is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. 

Police on Jan. 27 seized 200 furs made out of badger skin while trying to be smuggled into Turkey in Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport.

Wikipedia will of course be banned in Turkey as it has been used to insult Turkey’s founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan said on Dec. 18.

A local court in the southern province of Adana has ordered the arrest of a man who fired shots at the busts of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkey’s founding leader, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Dec. 15.

Turkish director Mustafa Kemal Uzun was stabbed to death in Istanbul on Dec. 10 by an extra who had a role in one of his TV series.

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on Nov. 10 attended a commemoration ceremony for the 79th anniversary of the death of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, organized at the New York Consulate.   

Hundreds of Turkish visitors flocked to the parental home of Kemal Ataturk, now a museum within the consulate in Greece's northern port city, to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the death of the founder of modern Turkey.

About 30 busses carrying Turkish tourists arrived to the museum early on Friday. Most of the visitors are expected to stay in Thessaloniki over the weekend.
