Vucic: Serbia, North Macedonia to develop closest possible ties

VRANJE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday he was confident Serbia and North Macedonia would develop the closest possible ties and build them carefully and with mutual respect.

Vucic was speaking after a meeting with North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova at the St Prohor Pcinjski monastery near Vranje, southern Serbia.

Tourist visits in Serbia up by 6.6 pct y-o-y in June

BELGRADE - Serbia registered 6.6 pct more tourist visits in June 2024 relative to the same month of last year and the number of overnight stays was up by 6.0 pct y-o-y, according to figures released by the national statistical office.

Overnight stays generated by Serbian tourists were up by 1.8 pct y-o-y, while those generated by foreign tourists were up by 11.4 pct y-o-y.

Over 100 Clashes in Eastern Ukraine as Air Alerts Continue

An air alert was declared once again last night in several areas of eastern Ukraine, according to local media reports. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the challenging situation on the eastern front, highlighting that over 100 clashes occurred in the last 24 hours. More than a third of these conflicts took place in the Pokrovsk area of the Donetsk region.

Ristic meets with UK ambassador to Belgrade

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristic met with UK Ambassador to Belgrade Edward Ferguson on Friday.

Bulgarian Arrested in Greece to Be Extradited to the US for Smuggling Charges

Greece has confirmed the extradition of a Bulgarian citizen to the United States, following a decision by the Greek Supreme Court, reports BNR. The individual, who was arrested in Serres, faces charges of involvement in a criminal organization and smuggling.
