Thousands of workers will have the right in 2020 to retire as early as the age of 55 year, that is 12 years before the general age of retirement.

Few thousands of Croatian workers and union members gathered in Zagreb's Europe Square on Saturday to show their bitter disapproval of planned pension reforms.

Greece's highest administrative court has ruled that hikes in retirement ages in the civil sector introduced in 2015 as part of lender-mandated reforms are constitutional.

The analyzes show that the pension system will be stable by 2040, but then reform will be needed to avoid a crisis, announced Social Minister Bisser Petkov on bTV on Monday.

The government retain their plans to increase the length of service and the retirement age as Social Minister Biser Petkov presented the Cabinet's priorities. Reports BTV. 

The government does not plan to rewrite what has already been set. After 20 years, both men and women will retire at the age of 65.

The Insurance Organization for the Self-Employed (OAEE) is undergoing a huge overhaul that includes a 2-year increase to the retirement age for those insured for 35 years and an additional seven years for mothers of minors (taxi drivers, women at sea, etc) as well as for parents of children with disabilities.

Bulgaria's unemployment rate has fallen to 9.3% in August, its lowest level since 2008, Labour Minister Ivaylo Kalfin announced on Thursday.

There were  309,781 jobless people registered with the government's Employment Agency last month, Kalfin said, according to BTA state news agency.

The Bulgarian Parliament approved at second reading on Tuesday the amendments to the Social Insurance Code.

A total of 97 MPs voted in favour of the pension reform of Deputy Prime Minister Ivaylo Kalfin, 20 MPs voted against and 10 abstained, daily Dnevnik informs.
