Türkiye fines Meta $330,000 over Instagram’s child privacy breach
Türkiye's data protection authority has imposed a fine of 11.5 million Turkish Liras (nearly $330,000) on Instagram's parent company Meta, citing breaches of privacy stemming from accounts operated by minors on the social media platform.

On Friday it said it would consider the appeal brought by the local NGO Civil Alliance against the decision to publish the names of people undergoing self-isolation, which the alliance said violated their constitutional right to privacy.

Following the publication of the girl's personal information, her photographs and health information in some media, the Ministry of Information reacted, as well as the profession.
UN moves to strengthen digital privacy
The United Nations on Nov. 25 adopted a resolution on protecting digital privacy that for the first time urged governments to offer redress to citizens targeted by mass surveillance.
