An undisclosed buyer has placed the largest overseas order for China's home-developed military drones, the Xinhua news agency has reported, in a boost for the Chinese arms industry's efforts to increase export volumes.

President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an's daughter, Sümeyye Erdo?an, got engaged to Selçuk Bayraktar on March 20 in a family gathering at Istanbul's Tarabya Huber Palace near the Bosphorus.

Sümeyye Erdo?an, the daughter of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, and Selçuk Bayraktar, a defense industrialist engineer producing unmanned aerial vehicles, have taken their first step towards tying the knot. 

Anka, an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), carried out its debut missionary flight in the eastern province of Elaz?? on Feb. 5. 

Taking off from Elaz?? Airport, Anka ("Phoenix" in English) ascended to an altitude of 19,000 feet to carry out a four-hour exploration and observation flight. 

The Turkish police have ordered six domestically-developed drones and four ground control stations set to be delivered beginning in 2016, sources from the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries have stated.
