Local company to open Turkey's first humanoid robot facility

Local software development company Ak?nsoft has said it will establish Turkey's first humanoid robot manufacturing facility in the Central Anatolian province of Konya. 

The company has produced three humanoid models dubbed "Ak?nc?," or "Raider" in English, and three advanced humanoid models dubbed "Ada," or "Island" in English, which can serve as waiters. 

Children called to enter the 2nd Panhellenic Educational Robotics Comp

Children from all over Greece will have the opportunity to creatively develop their talents and scientific skills via the 2nd Panhellenic Educational Robotics Competition for elementary schoolchildren and the 1st Panhellenic Educational Robotics Competition for junior high-school children.

A cooperative project funded by the EU researchers from the Excellence Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) of Bielefeld University funded by Edinburgh (UK), Crete (Greece) and Munich (Germany) are working to create the first robotic bartender, called James (Joint Action in Multimodal Embodied Systems).
